Updates

Not much has really happened since the last time I was on. I got to my goal weight by my birthday and have managed to shrink pass my old skinny jeans and now have a brand new size! YEAH! That kinda sucked seeing how I don't have many clothes that fit now, but still...not complaining! Dylan is excelling in 2nd grade. His first report card showed him being at the top in his grade for math! Reading, Spelling etc...not so good but I know that's to be expected with Dylan. When I ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he says an Astronaut. I can really see him doing this. When I ask him why he tells me that he wants to see the stars and get one for me! :D Love that boy!
Zachary is doing well in 1st grade. He's too does great with math and extremely well in science. Readingand spelling not so great but then again he does have a severe speech delay which is a factor in allot of the word related subjects. He's such a great kid. His teacher boast about how Zach is always trying to help his classmates when they get stuck. And he does it in a respectful manner. When I ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he says Indiana Jones. I tell him that Indiana's profession is an Archeologist. He likes that cause he gets to play in the dirt! Heehee! Love that boy!
Aspen has already mastered everything she'd need to know in Kindergarten! Her teacher wants to start teaching her more of the things she'll be learning in 1st grade! She's such a sweetheart when it comes to making sure everyone gets a turn or in helping out the kids that tend to need the extra push! She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up! I explained the different kinds of mermaids that we have (ocean biologist, scubba divers, etc) She wants to be the kind of mermaid that gets to dance with Shamu! I thinks that's awesome!

Out the mouths of Babes

OK so Dylan this year has a very young and attractive teacher. You know one of those talk, Blond, slender and has to be no older than 25 years. We joke about how the uncle Josh should do his uncley duties and flirt with Dylan's teacher.
Josh has been trying to get my kidlets to help him pick up on the ladies as he likes to call it. All in good fun, they've never remembered what Josh would want them to say to pick up on women so we never really thought much of it right.

WELL...

I believe it was last Tuesday morning. My boys meet up on the playground for morning gathering at school. They were already lined up and I was standing in the back where I'm usually pace between Zach's class and Dylan's. Dylan's teacher was looking at me with a big cheezer smile on her face. I could tell she wanted to talk with me. She couldn't make up her mind. She'd start walking towards me then turn around, then turned back around and came up to me. She then says " Dylan asked me something yesterday that I've been dying to ask you." I was like "OK what?" Then I heard it ... " Does Dylan have an Uncle Josh?"
I thought I was gonna die. All I could think of was I'm gonna physically harm that man. Apparently Dylan told his teacher that his uncle Josh wants to know if she's single and you're cute!...umm...yeah!...awkward!

Kindergarten is Evil

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kindergarten is evil. It's the root to our children wanting their independence. Aspen started this Kindergarten August 14. She's been there for only a week and already she's not as clingy as she was the first day. These Kindergarten teachers may have them kidlets fooled but I can see their trickery. They come across all sweet and over nice. They say they use fun, easy methods of teaching. They even say the want to show these young, new kidlets that learning can be fun...Fun like the witch enticing Hansel and Gretel into eating her candy house. I know what they're up to. They want our children to be independent and to eventually leave us one day to go to college on the other side of the country and to never call.
Well what if I'm not ready to let them go when that day comes? What about all these years of always being there? All the Dance recitals? Soccer games? karate? Does none of this matter anymore then? Why can't they learn from my mistakes? Yes I moved away from home and got older but I can see my errors and will be 29 again this year!
William did mention that we could always install a lock on the hall closet! That may be the option!

Waiting for Daddy

To sum things up, William works about 30 miles away from home. He'll leave Friday morning for basketball and not be back till Monday after the other basketball practice. He works the swing shift and because gas is so very pricey and how the traffic is through the pass, he stays with his parents during the weekend.
So the kidlets helped me this weekend to get the house back in order. I offered to get a new game as a reward / thank you. You know, something special right. Then it was brought up about going to Archabald's for lunch and playing on the playground. Great Idea! Dylan brought up bringing Daddy too. I reminded them how daddy wouldn't be home till Monday afternoon and gave them the option to either wait till Monday for Dad to get home so he can join us, or we could go now. It was unanimous...They wanted their dad to come along!
This afternoon the kiddos anxiously waited for their dad to get home so they could share their reward and time with him. This was taken as they waited! I tell you these 3 never cease to amaze me! Moments like these are what I live for!

Aspen Claims to be a Mermaid! She may be right!

My Baby will be in Kindergarten

On August 14th of this year all three of my kidlets will be in school. Dylan will be in 2nd grade, Zachary will be in 1st and will be going the whole day, and Aspen will start Kindergarten. People have told me that it gets easier to send the kidlets to school when you've done it before. I think I'll have to disagree with them. I've found it to be just as hard sending Zach to Kindergarten as it was for me to send Dylan. And now that Aspen will be going in 14 days, I find it just as hard. Complete mixed feeling with the whole school thing. I'm excited with them that their achieving this great and exciting milestone in their lives, but find that I miss their company during the day.

I will miss my big helper and the one on one I was able to get with Aspen last year, but I am just as excited about her going to school as she is. She's more than ready!
